Keep a copy of the original
Use footage you own or have permission to process. Finish cuts in your video editor first: changing the recording afterward can make previously generated cue times no longer fit.
Upload a prepared video, generate captions from its spoken audio, preview the wording and style, then export. Choose a captioned video when the text must always be visible, or SRT when you need a separate timed subtitle file.

Listen for background noise, loud music and overlapping dialogue. Select the language actually spoken in the clip. Check names, amounts and specialist terms against the recording rather than assuming the automatic transcript is correct.
Captions rendered into a video remain visible as part of the image. A separate SRT contains timestamps and text for a compatible player or editing tool. SRT does not include animated styling or automatically publish itself to a platform.
Watch the exported result from beginning to end. Check the first and last captions, fast speech, line breaks, contrast and crop. Then inspect the destination platform preview for controls that might cover important words.

Capgen does not add its own watermark to the exported video. New accounts receive five video credits; check Pricing for upload limits and plan details.
SRT is plain text. Open a copy in a subtitle or text editor, preserve the cue numbers and timestamp format, and verify the corrected file against the recording. The current Capgen studio does not import an edited SRT back into a project.
